7 Basic Pieces for the Innocent Archetype Style

Innocent Archetypes are known for their joyful approach to the world. They see things with childlike wonder and are not afraid to pursue the things that make them the happiest. They're very secure in what they like or don't like, which means they have no problem sticking to a style they love.

If you're an Innocent Style Archetype, there are a few different ways you can approach your style. The two different Innocent Style types we see the most are either angelic or colorful. Whatever visuals call to you, you're looking for clothing that inspires joy and freedom in your life.

Here are seven basic style suggestions if you're an Innocent Style Archetype!

Cool Sneakers

Sneakers are no longer just for the weekend! The reason sneakers are so perfect for the Innocent Style Type because of their practicality and the variety of color options. They can also be dressed up or dressed down, depending on the occasion. Many people wear their coolest sneakers to the office or big events, as long as they're clean and work with the overall outfit. If sneakers aren't your thing, brands like Camper will give you classic shoes in unique colorways.

Playful Patterns

Patterns like gingham, plaids, and polka dots are a great starting point for the Innocent Style Type, but why stop there? Find popular franchise patterns at RSVLTS or Unique Vintage, or less branded patterns at Lazy Oaf and Lucy & Yak.

Thrift shopping is also an amazing way to find cool patterns for shirts and pants that you might have never thought of.

Colors

If you're the angelic Innocent Style Type, you'll feel more comfortable adding light colors to your wardrobe like pastels, whites, and creams. If you're the colorful Innocent Style Type, the rest of the rainbow is your oyster.

Washable Fabrics

Innocent Archetypes are always in pursuit of a good time, which means they have to be careful to buy clothes that will hold up. Fabrics like silk, velvet, or suede need extra care, so I'd stay away unless it's for a special occasion. Cotton, denim, linen, and wool are sturdier (although wool has its own rules!), so try to find clothing with these fabrics.

Free-Flowing and/or Oversized Clothing

Innocent Archetypes like to feel cozy and comfortable, so it's important they wear clothing that reflects this. Oversized cuts don't have to swallow you up if you balance it out with strategic hemlines or more fitted pieces. Ask yourself what's important for you in terms of comfort and movement, and start looking for pieces that reflect that.

I'm personally a big fan of oversized men's shirts, as they're both comfortable and dressier than a t-shirt. Cookman Chef Pants are comfortable pants with an impressive array of colors and patterns. If you're feeling more feminine, smock dresses, shift dresses, and a-line skirts are a good starting place for you.

Overalls/Dungarees

Overalls and dungarees are the perfect mix of whimsical and practical that works for the Innocent Archetype. You can find them in different patterns or just stick with the classic denim overalls.

Fun Accessories

Accessories are where the Innocent Style Type shines. Any little trinket or bauble that speaks to your sense of whimsy is the perfect thing! I'm personally a fan of Etsy and Little Rooms, and I've found a lot of cool pieces at thrift stores and flea markets. Whatever it is, accessories take any boring outfit and make it something totally and uniquely you.
